Summary of Responsibilities

The Paint and Bodywork Manager leads the daily operations of the Paint and Bodywork departments, overseeing Paint and Bodywork teams. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality workmanship, operational efficiency, workplace safety, and adherence to company standards. As a key leader, the manager drives continuous improvement initiatives, fosters cross-functional collaboration, and ensures that production targets are consistently achieved.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full lifecycle of coatings production, from raw material intake to final product shipment.
• Ensure alignment with production schedules, customer demand, and inventory targets.
• Lead Lean initiatives to eliminate waste, reduce cycle times, and improve flow.
• Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Ensure coatings meet internal and customer quality specifications.
• Collaborate with Quality team to resolve non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Work with procurement and logistics to ensure timely availability of raw materials and delivery of finished goods.
• Monitor daily operations to ensure quality, safety, and productivity standards are met.
• Manage departmental budgets, tooling needs, and equipment maintenance in coordination with leadership.
• Conduct regular team meetings, performance evaluations, and corrective actions as needed.

Technical Skills/Competencies (technical knowledge, education and experience)

• Bachelors Degree in Business Management or related field preferred
• Five years prior Paint/Bodywork management experience
• Computer knowledge with Microsoft products and e-mail usage
• Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role

Essential Functions/Physical Requirements

• Demonstrate all technical skills/competencies and core skills as referenced in this job specification at acceptable productivity and quality levels
• Complete all work as detailed in the summary of responsibilities of this position profile at acceptable productivity and quality levels
• Successfully pass a post offer drug test, as well as random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug and alcohol test thereafter
