The On-Site Powder Technician will set up, operate, or tend plating machines to coat metal or plastic products to protect or decorate surfaces.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Follow schedule of production assignment.
2. Read production schedules to determine setups of equipment and machines.
3. Properly complete packing with identify of items (part number, quantity, shift, operator, date).
4. Properly complete schedule and manufacturing reconciliation.
5. Visually check part to ensure quality specifications are met regarding paint coverage.
6. Touch up and/or repair finished parts as needed.
7. Maintain all necessary equipment and tools.
8. Set up, operate, or tend plating or coating machines to coat metal or plastic products with chromium, zinc, copper, cadmium, nickel, or other metal to protect or decorate surfaces.
9. Adjust paint flows and powder spray guns for optimal coverage with correct amount of powder spray.
10. Observe gauges to ensure that machines are operating properly, making adjustments or stopping machines when problems occur.
11. Test machinery to ensure that it is operating properly.
12. Troubleshoot and perform general maintenance repairs on powder coating equipment.
13. Meet safety, production and quality metrics.
14. Maintain production records.
15. Fill out and maintain quality records, labor reports showing parts produced and scrap generated.
16. Ensure work area is clean, secure and well maintained, clean machines, related equipment, and work areas, using water, solvents and other cleaning aids.
17. Perform other duties as, when and where assigned.
18. Responsible for punctuality & reliability.
19. Maintain a good team effort and display of cooperation.
20. Must follow all safety rules and instructions within or related to assigned job.
21. Prepare the surface of metal products for powder coating following Company procedures for production.

Position Supervised or Directed:

• Work activities in the workplace will be observed from time-to-time members of top management.
• Reports to Finishing Manager.

Qualifications, Experience required:

• Degree/Diploma Obtained: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3 years of powder coating experience with troubleshooting knowledge.
• English fluency.

General Requirements:

• Detailed and hands-on oriented.

Working conditions:

• Manufacturing plant environment.
• Physical ability, which may include standing, lifting, carrying, reaching, and working in areas that are not climate controlled for long periods.
• Will encounter some dirt, grease, and oil in the course of routine job duties.
• Subject to some fumes and smoke but not continuously.
• Subjected to noise from machines which may require hearing protection.

• Use of basic mechanical tools.

• Occasionally change filters.
• Occasional work with chemicals.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Occasionally operate counterweight forklift.
