As a team member within the Risk Management Department, applicant will be responsible for investigating, evaluating and settling liability insurance claims, as well as working with our insurance carrier(s) for claims handling coordination.

The Successful Applicant will:
  • Maintain and update liability claims tracking schedules in Excel or other software mandated by the Company.
  • Review facts of incidents at the properties for the possibility of risk transfer.
  • Handle the processing of a claim, including attorney demand letters and insured lawsuits, coordinating with our insurance carrier and/or TPA and counsel.
  • Review the details of a claim, such as police reports, witness statements, and policy information.
  • Work with and receive approval from the EVP - Operations Services & Risk Management and the Insurance Carrier to determine settlement values for claims.
To be considered, we require:
  • B.A. or B.S. degree in a business-related field OR a minimum of three (3) years insurance or claims handling related experience, or equivalent combination thereof.
  • Proficient in Excel and other computer skills necessary to complete tasks.
  • Ability to discuss claims matters with individuals and customers of our properties.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to be a self-starter.
  • Ability to perform various tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to comprehend legal documents, such as leases and other contracts related to the real estate industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interaction with all Divisions of the company and tenants.
