Job Description About the Job: Reporting to the Area Coach, the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) manages a Taco Bell restaurant within company policies to ensure customer satisfaction and profit maximization. The RGM will perform hands-on work to train employees, respond to customer service needs, and model appropriate behaviors in the restaurant, providing leadership through recognizing and motivating the team to achieve operational goals.

The Day-to-Day

  • Build People Capability and drive culture by problem solving, resolving conflicts, communicating, and motivating others to drive results
  • Recruit and equip high-quality operators to deliver great customer experiences
  • Build a healthy bench of developed Managers and Team Members; lead performance management for all restaurant employees
  • Lead by example as a culture champion and live by Taco Bell HUNGRY principles: Hungry, Understanding, Never Follow, Grateful, Relentless, and Youthful
  • Leverage culture and people capability to fuel brand performance
  • Provide leadership and coaching for Managers and Team Members; deliver a consistent customer experience
  • Ensure complete and timely execution of corporate and local marketing programs
  • Maintain a safe working and customer experience environment by promoting safe work behaviors
  • Control day-to-day operations by scheduling labor and ordering food and supplies for a restaurant with $1.0M$2.0M in annual sales and 500800 average daily transactions
  • Ensure local health and safety codes and company safety policies are met
  • Resolve serious customer issues and train managers to meet or exceed customer service standards
  • Utilize customer program insights to elevate the customer experience and meet satisfaction targets
  • Track and analyze customer complaints; lead the management team to implement systematic solutions and performance standards
  • Build SMART action plans to resolve issues; monitor Speed with Service (SWS) and coach to targets

Grow the Brand, Sales and Profits

  • Control Profit & Loss by managing cash control procedures, inventory, labor, financial reports, and actions to protect margins
  • Maintain equipment, facility, and grounds with a Preventative Maintenance Plan
  • Review and prioritize store capital expenditure requests and build vendor relationships for scale
  • Ensure facilities and equipment meet Taco Bell standards; coordinate upgrades or replacements
  • Analyze sales, labor, inventory, and controllables; coach on corrective actions to meet margins and growth targets
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and deliver unit-specific Annual Operating Plans

Minimum Requirements

Is This You?

  • High school diploma minimum; university degree preferred
  • 24 years of operational management experience in Quick Service Restaurant or retail with P&L responsibility
  • Basic business math and accounting skills to manage P&L and strong analytical/decision-making skills
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; excellent oral and written communication and team-building ability
  • Proven analytical and decision-making capabilities; basic personal computer literacy
  • Passion for quality food, service, cleanliness, and speed standards
  • Dynamic, energetic, positive leader; self-starter who does the right thing for the business
  • Ability to provide leadership and coaching to employees; demonstrated success in selecting, coaching, and developing managerial staff
  • Proven track record of driving customer satisfaction, financial performance, and employee satisfaction
