In this role, you’ll lead the Engineering and Security teams in maintaining and enhancing all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across the property. You’ll drive preventive and corrective maintenance programs, oversee capital improvement projects, and ensure safety and sustainability standards are met at every turn. From managing outside vendors to developing in-depth engineering manuals and training programs, your leadership will ensure our hotel operates efficiently and safely while creating a welcoming environment for guests and team members alike. This role calls for a hands-on, solutions-oriented leader with strong technical knowledge, exceptional judgment, and a passion for people development.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, assign, and confirm the timely completion of both routine and emergency maintenance, ensuring all building systems and infrastructure operate smoothly and efficiently.

  • Champion high standards of craftsmanship and safety, holding the team accountable for excellence in every repair, project, and task.

  • Lead by example to ensure exceptional service is delivered by the Engineering team, supporting a guest-first culture throughout the property.

  • Assist in hiring, training, coaching, and developing engineering staff, fostering a strong, motivated team aligned with hotel and company values.

  • Strategically manage the on-line work order system to prioritize tasks and streamline workflow for maximum efficiency.

  • Maintain accurate inventory and ensure availability of PPE, parts, tools, and materials essential to daily operations.

  • Promote adherence to all company policies and procedures, reinforcing a consistent and compliant work environment.

  • Ensure the department operates in full compliance with local, state, and federal codes and regulations.

  • Support sustainability efforts by helping implement the hotel’s environmental initiatives and best practices.

  • Play an active role in the hotel’s safety programs and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in risk management.

  • Participate in team meetings and Safety Committee discussions as needed to provide input and stay aligned with property goals.

  • Roll up your sleeves to tackle maintenance issues hands-on when necessary, demonstrating leadership through action.

  • Conduct timely and thoughtful performance reviews to support associate growth and retention.

  • Serve as a key resource for all departments, offering technical expertise and proactive support across the property.

  • Represent the Engineering team with professionalism and integrity at all times.

  • Ensure mechanical rooms, workshops, and equipment are clean, organized, and well-maintained.

  • Lead or contribute to special projects as directed by the General Manager.

  • Remain on-call 24/7 for emergency support and be available to work any shift as business needs arise.

  • Take on additional responsibilities and projects as assigned to support hotel operations and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities management for a hotel or resort.
  • Proven track record in managing an efficient work force focusing on preventative maintenance of the asset's public areas, guestrooms, and physical plant.
  • Experience in organizing, implementing, and maintaining a preventative maintenance tracking system and work order system.
  • Experience in coordinating and managing hospitality capital improvement projects.
  • Able to make decisions in a high stress environment.

As a valued member of the CoralTree team, you'll receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Group medical, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
  • A pre-tax benefit plan for healthcare and dependent care reimbursement.
  • An employee assistance program.
  • Paid time off/sick time.
  • Participation in a 401(k) plan with a company match.
  • Team member free room night program.

Join us in creating unforgettable experiences for our guests, building vibrant communities, and shaping the future of travel and hospitality.
